Volunteer to Coach - Adult

Newton Youth Soccer is a volunteer run organization. We depend on our volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and other roles to run successful programs.

You don't need any experience to coach, just a willingness to help kids learn the basics of the sport and have a good time. NYS can assist you with practice plans, game plans, and other skills to make you into a successful coach.

Volunteer to Coach - H.S Coach Program

Launched in the Spring of 2019, our H.S Aged Coach Program invites H.S students in Newton to become NYS Intramural coaches for the Spring season. Successful candidates will be put through the US Soccer 7v7 Grassroots license and will be provided constant support from the club. This program is designed to offer a first step onto the coaching ladder for aspiring young coaches and also serves as a great way to give something back to the community. The program is open to current H.S Juniors and Seniors Only.

Coaches who are accepted into the program will be assigned an NYS Intramural 3rd, 4th or 5/6th grade team for the Spring season - two coaches per team or paired up with an adult volunteer.

Specifics:
Season runs early April through early June.
9 Saturday games – no events Memorial Day weekend. Coaches MUST be available for all games & practices
Games between 9am - 12pm in Newton
1 Practice per week - scheduled by the coaches!
Training and support provided by NYS Director of Coaching
Must complete 7v7 license course online, or in person. Cost to take course will be reimbursed by NYS (must also complete the Introduction to Grassroots Coaching FREE course).
Coaching Apparel provided
Use hours coaching towards community volunteering hours!
